My role is far more than coordinating activities; it's about inspiring our athletes to realise their full potential, promoting inclusivity, and advocating for the importance of these initiatives in the broader community.Being the chairperson of such a prestigious organisation has also taught me the value of teamwork, resilience, and adaptability. My primary responsibility involves supporting coaches and venues in the implementation of inclusive tennis programs, ensuring that tennis remains an accessible sport for everyone.Overseeing the promotion of activities, I use my strong background in marketing to effectively increase awareness and encourage widespread participation in our programs. In addition, I regularly host forums and workshops to share good practice and facilitate a culture of continuous learning within the Derbyshire tennis community.An integral part of my role involves leading local, regional, and national training camps for learning-disabled, visually impaired, and wheelchair tennis players. These initiatives are run in collaboration with the LTA and Dan Maskell Tennis Trust, demonstrating our collective commitment to making tennis an accessible sport for all.As Open Court Lead, I am reminded daily of the power of sport to transcend barriers, empower individuals, and unify communities. This role allows me to directly contribute to these efforts and advocate for inclusive sports on a larger scale.

I am passionate about fostering a sports culture where everyone, regardless of ability, age, or background, has an equal opportunity to participate and thrive.In this capacity, I deliver workshops and training sessions designed to equip coaches, community leaders, and volunteers with the knowledge and skills to provide inclusive sport and physical activity opportunities. These sessions cover everything from understanding and identifying barriers to participation, to developing adaptive strategies that create accessible and enjoyable experiences for all participants.Beyond practical considerations, I also focus on fostering a mindset of inclusivity. This includes promoting understanding and empathy towards all participants' diverse needs, ensuring that our coaches and leaders become advocates for inclusivity within their respective sports and communities.I am immensely proud to be part of this programme, helping to shape a more inclusive sporting landscape in the UK where everyone can realise their potential through physical activity.

In 2018, I co-founded Tennis Chesterfield with a vision to create a dynamic and inclusive tennis community. My role encompasses strategic oversight, daily management, and an active presence on the court. Over the years, I am proud to have grown the club to over 500 weekly players, offering programs for all skill levels and age groups.A cornerstone of our approach at Tennis Chesterfield is our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. I lead our disability programs, championing the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy and excel in sports. Our efforts in this area have been recognized through numerous Derbyshire Disability Programme of the Year awards, affirming the impact we have had on our community.Alongside our inclusive programs, Tennis Chesterfield has over 25 school club links and more than 20 community and park links. These partnerships have been instrumental in fostering a wider appreciation for the sport of tennis and promoting physical activity among young people in the area.In all my work, I strive to ensure that Tennis Chesterfield remains a welcoming space where individuals can learn, grow, and cultivate a lifelong love of tennis.
