I am currently Head of Group Tax at URENCO and a member of the Senior Lead Team. I have global responsibility for managing all aspects of the Group's tax reporting, compliance, risk management and planning. I currently run a global team of 10 with a mission to add value by aligning tax priorities with the core business strategy. My tax career started with solid foundations in UK corporate tax compliance and reporting (through training at KPMG) and developed into a regional advisory role which established strong international tax capability. My areas of core tax expertise include:• Significant experience of building strong relationships with tax authorities based on openness and trust and reducing organisational tax risk.• Significant transfer pricing experience, particularly with respect to global energy supply chains. This has been developed through deep commercial exposure to oil & gas and nuclear markets. I have experience of negotiating and concluding unilateral and multilateral Advance Pricing Agreements and resolving transfer pricing disputes in audit as well as in MAP.• Significant experience of tax efficient structuring of finance and commercial arrangements. This includes continuous review of existing arrangements as well as integration of new activities through both organic growth and acquisition. • Operational experience of customs compliance and planning, including the oversight of a foreign trade zone and preparing for security and customs accreditation programmes (e.g. AEO and ISA).• Overseeing business rates and property tax revaluations and negotiations.• Significant tax controversy experience in multiple jurisdictions and managing disputes from routine audits through to formal litigation.• Actively involved in lobbying Government for tax incentives. • Significant experience with the UK, US, German, Dutch, Norwegian and Australian tax systems as well as a good grasp of taxation in a number of other countries
