Consulting geotechnical engineer with experience on a variety of projects:TVA-Widows Creek Facility - Designed remediation projects including a buttress, graded filter, and surface drainage improvements for a wet gypsum stack to improve global and seepage stability factors of safety.Eppley Airport (Omaha) 2011 MO River High Water - Provided emergency design services for the Missouri River flooding in summer 2011. Work included monitoring of levee integrity, design/installation of new pumped relief wells, and seepage modeling of critical areas.Southwest Illinois Flood Prevention Initiative - Analyzed existing levees in the Wood River Levee District for the 100-year flood level and designed improvements so the levees would meet USACE criteria in order to maintain FEMA certification. Underseepage was the primary concern; improvements consisted of relief wells, seepage berms, and gravel filters and drains.New Orleans Levee System Improvements - Designed levee raise for levees in New Orleans East after Hurricane Katrina. Design utilized deep soil mixing of the soft clay below the existing levee to allow the levee to be raised on an accelerated schedule. Also designed relief wells for adjacent levee system founded on a pervious stratum.I-64 Redesign in St. Louis - Performed geotechnical analysis and design for 13 bridge foundations, approximately 40 mechanically stabilized earth walls, and 2 pedestrian tunnels as well as general recommendations for grading and slopes on a high-profile project constructed on an accelerated schedule. Also performed construction observation for various geotechnical installations.
