The Switching programme will deliver a complete overhaul of energy industry codes, processes, practices and systems to deliver a better consumer experience, facilitate market competition and realise significant quality and efficiency benefits for energy suppliers and network operators.As Lead E2E Architect, I own the end-to-end architecture, providing leadership to other domain architects (business, applications, data, infrastructure, security, service) to ensure overall cohesion. Building and managing stakeholder relationships within this vast and complex landscape is fundamental. Key accountabilites include:- Ownership of the Architecture Vision and the Architecture Principles- Ownership of key programme design artefacts including the Architecture Repository and Design Specifications- Development of a Switching Roadmap to define the capability and technological evolution of the service- Ensuring designs align with the DCC Enterprise Architecture, providing switching input to the DCC technology roadmap- Using the DCC Target Operating Model to inform and guide design decisions- Supporting procurement activities for the tendering of outsourced services, from planning through to evaluation - Ensuring service providers’ adherence to technical standards, policies and principles approved by the DCC Design Authority- Responsible for all technical content within the OFGEM Programme Design Authority- Rigorously applying architecture standards to all implementation projects and operational changes through assurance processes to assess compliance- Working alongside Programme leadership to engage with senior stakeholders to present and discuss the architecture, including taking the lead on challenges to the design from those stakeholders- Work alongside DCC Strategy and Product Management to provide thought leadership on market innovation opportunities

- Leading the creation of architecture principles to guide architecture and solution designs- Ownership of an architecture model that covered all architectural layers, creating an architecture repository to store, amongst artefacts, architecture principles, patterns, standards and policies- Use of Value Chain and Value Stream analysis to translate strategy into high-level programme scope - Creation and maintenance of business architecture blueprints including a Capability Model and an Information Model- Development and maintenance of Conceptual and Logical Data Models - Formulation of an initial Target Operating Model (TOM) to facilitate scenario-planning and strategy alignment- Creation of a comprehensive design approach, including the definition of a set of deliverables that covered all aspects of business, solution and technical design- Development and implementation of design processes, methods and tools, to facilitate requirements management and process modelling, through to solution design and integration- Establishing and managing a governance framework to provide quality assurance for the integrity of all architecture elements, using a Design Authority as a basis for decision-making- Fostering a collaborative and high-performing cross-functional and inter-organisational team, including internal subject matter experts, solution and technology architects, business analysts and consultants, along with third-party supplier resources- Support for procurement activities including creation of evaluation frameworks and content, supplier engagement and evaluation, and subsequent onboarding

Trilliant helps utilities and energy retailers successfully deploy a broad set of smart grid initiatives – from advanced metering to distribution automation to consumer applications such as demand response and distributed energy resources. The role was based at Client Site for British Gas, for whom Trilliant is supplying Head-End Software and Communications Equipment in support of the client's Smart Metering Deployment.Key Responsibilities include:-Elicitation and analysis of Client's requirements and creation/maintenance of Functional Requirements Specifications-Creation/management of a set of design artifacts, including use cases, UML diagrams and user stories -Alignment of solutions with established and emerging industry standards and specifications (e.g. SMETS1, SSWG, Zigbee, DLMS)-Interfacing with development teams to ensure traceability of requirements through solution design-Interfacing with other suppliers, such as meter manufacturers, to assure the design of end-to-end smart metering capabilities -Management of requirements traceability throughout the full project lifecycle-Interface with client to facilitate issue resolution and prioritisation
