During my time in this position I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to experience several different aspects of the Logistics Industry, these included driving, assessing new applicants and temporary staff to ensure they met the high standards that the company required, this not only focussed on their driving ability but their attitude and character, coaching drivers in SAFED also formed part of my duties. I also served as the site safety rep for several years, this part of the role included coaching staff to practice good manual handling processes and to ensure SSOW’s were followed, risk assessing customer sites was also an integral part of my duties as safety rep. Whilst not strictly part of my job spec I was also called upon to perform admin duties as holiday cover and also deputise for the depot manager in times of sickness or holiday.
