Material selection is key to mechanical designs, and is mainly based on standards, temperature, pressure, application, and economics.Spent a full year on-site for design/construction of a natural gas fueled power plant as a piping engineer. Gained a great understanding for how work is translated from design in an office to construction in the field. Took two additional field assignments over the remainder of my career; acting as liaison between engineering and construction. Acted as Mechanical Lead on multiple jobs; including the Flint Hills Ethanol facility rebuild in Arthur, Iowa. Lead responsibilities included schedule, budget, and resource management.
