Blackpool Pride Of Place Partnership Director
CurrentAndy set up and launched the Blackpool Pride of Place Partnership Board in July 2017, which is a business led group made up from the public, voluntary and private sector. Their mission is to promote economic development and tackle some of the area’s challenges. The Board includes the leaders of local and national businesses, the Council and the LEP.A programme of work is underway with the long-term ambition to increase economic activity, tackle some of the key social issues, reduce pressure on public services and help build a flourishing voluntary sector. The hope is that the Pride of Place partnership will also help attract new investment to Blackpool and the Fylde Coast and provide sustained support and development to make the area a success by drawing on the best of the three sectors to deliver the right solutions.Since the Pride of Place partnership’s inception, Andy has also created;a National Advisory Board - a group of nationally influential figures who are providing strategic support and critique to the local boardThe Fylde Coast Responsible Business Network - a coalition of businesses who bring their collective strength to bear, in order to be a force for good in the community. It focuses specifically on supporting young people in schools, and helping long-term unemployed back in to work. a Born & Bred alumni network, who’s key objective is to use their influence and expertise to advocate for Blackpool on a national scale to business, government and in the media. Their authority is their authenticity. As people from the area who already understand the issues Blackpool faces, they are best placed to speak for Blackpool independently, without being seen as a mouthpiece for local interests in the same way as the council or local politicians.
