I am currently a Police Staff Manager working for Gloucestershire Constabulary.I am responsible for all aspects of the police contribution to the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub for Gloucestershire, focusing on prevention and detection of abuse to children, adults at risk and victims of domestic abuse. This requires working with partners in sensitive areas to protect the vulnerable in our communities, understanding risk and being able to make informed decisions around risk management. I am responsible for a team of Police Officers and Police Staff working closely with Partner agencies to deliver the County response to Strategy Meetings to safeguard children at risk of harm. I have also been responsible for a proof of concept pilot delivering a data analytics project, to predict risk to children using multi-agency information streams, for which we and the supplier were finalists in the MCA Awards 2020. I have over 40 years experience in policing. The vast majority of my service had been as a detective, with significant experience in the intelligence (both crime and CT) investigations, anti-corruption, human intelligence and public protection arenas. I have detailed experience in risk assessment and risk management at both operational and strategic levels. I am also a member of the International Police Response Cadre working alongside UK Joint Forces HQ and supporting FCDO. This involves supporting UK Forces with non combatant evacuation operations and humanitarian disaster as well as deploying overseas on behalf of the FCDO to offer policing advice and support. During 2021 I deployed as part of Operation Pitting, assisting the Military and FCDO to relocate 15;000 evacuees from Afghanistan. In 2022 I have been involved in visiting British overseas territories on a number of occasions to assess the UK provision of support in the event of a hurricane or natural disaster,as well as visits supporting stability policing around serious and organised crime.
