Andy has been working on a diverse range of Mining and Construction projects for over 35 years.His 25-year career in Construction began with QWRC Australia as Construction Engineer, building dams, power stations and embankment works. He worked on major projects funded by a number of key aid agencies, including the Australian D. A. B., World Bank and Asian Development Bank. Major projects include pump installation on the Mekong River in Laos, 400 MW Khao Laem Hydroelectric Project in Thailand, and the Rompin Endau Project (2 dams and 1 weir) in Malaysia. His first project in Indonesia was the 9 MBCM Kedung Ombo Dam, the largest in Central Java. For Thiess Indonesia, Andy worked on the Telco project in Central Java as well as the Balambano Dam in Sulawesi.For the past 10 years, Andy has been very instrumental in developing Thiess’ Mining business. He began on the BHP Thiess Alliance project in Senakin and Satui. He then established and expanded the Supply Chain Department overseeing sourcing, shipping, contracts and agreements of plant and equipment to support mining operations. Since 2008, Andy is the Executive Manager of Business Development & Estimating, responsible for the company’s expansion and development in Indonesia. His most recent contribution to Thiess Indonesia is the contract work for Tamtama Perkasa Mining Services, Lahai Coal Construction for BHP, Melak Coal Mine Project for Bayan Resources and the Seruyung Gold Development Project for J Resources.
