Andy is a well-rounded energy and climate change professional with international experience and proven expertise in successful commercial, technical, analytical and programme management roles across multiple technologies. He is an independent but consensual strategic thinker with a broad and deep understanding of the energy industry and its business, technology, market, policy and regulatory drivers. With a proven track record, he is respected at senior level within the industry. He is comfortable and effective working around the public-private and technology-commercial interfaces. In 2016 Andy established Compton Energy Associates Ltd to undertake a variety of analysis, strategy and programme development, and business development assignments in the field of sustainable energy. Previously, Andy joined the Technology External Affairs team at Alstom Power as a Technology Analyst in 2009 before moving to the UK Sales and Marketing team in 2012 where he was Strategic Account Manager for one of the UK's ‘Big-6’ utilities. In addition, he had Business Development responsibilities for Alstom’s offshore wind offering in the UK.Andy has 19 years of experience working in the sustainable energy sector, including roles working with the public sector in collaborative RDD&D, technology transfer and international trade and investment programmes.
