As a technology focused company, ESPN is driven to deploy leading edge solutions as a means of seeking competitive advantage. In support of this strategy, responsible for the coordination of the Technology Infrastructure Project Portfolio to include prioritization and alignment with long rang strategic plans. Defined and refined the project management processes and templates to optimize effectiveness thru standardization and consistency. Coordinated the activities of a dedicated staff of project managers to drive solutions to successful launch in a diverse, dynamic enterprise. .

Managed all phases of the design and buildout of a +$20M initiative to establish a global network transmissions operations center at ESPN built to support distribution of the new High Definition (1080p) standard. The resulting facility supported multiple segments of the Disney enterprise in content processing and distribution. Implemented a new end-to-end VOD solution to optimize outdated manual processes for speed to market of relevant sports content. The new solution generated savings of +$1M through automation as well as more efficient use of a shared satellite transponder distribution scheme.Drove a major initiative to revamp the content distribution technology stack to support outgoing linear networks in MPEG4. This project reflects a major milestone for the company and will radically change the management and day to day operation of our outgoing satellite delivery system. This effort generated savings of over $2M per year by leveraging the more efficient codec and optimizing satellite transponder allocation.

Overall responsibility for the initiative to customize and implement a new business management system to support operations at the Singapore based broadcaster. This included the specification and procurement of infrastructure, coordination of updates to operational workflow and onsite testing and verification of the customized Pilat system. Budgetary oversight and representation on the executive steering committee was an important component of this two year multi-faceted program.

Managed the ongoing development of various systems in support of rapid industry growth. These included an Oracle based affiliate information system customized to the Asia Pacific markets. Expertise in this area led to an assignment in Singapore immediately afterward. Additionally drove the implementation of a customized ITIL based service management solution with related workflow processes across the support teams.

Design and development of an Affiliate (Cable) Information System used to manage CRM, contractual/billing and special terms and conditions including rights management.

Completed programming assignments to enhance automated Oracle RDBMS applications and software within mainframe, network and client/server environments. Improved function of applications, databases, and reporting aspects of customized software systems.

Led a team of software developers to build custom Oracle RDBMS based systems in support of US Army projects related to both personnel management and military systems.
