IT Asset Management and ReportingI was the stakeholder and technical expert having provided extensive coaching, advice, Quality Assurance and managerial direction to an off-shore supplier team that maintained the IT Hardware and Mobile inventory. Duties including resolving conflicts and advising on missing assets, conducting regular service reviews with the team and management, providing broad goals, aims and priorities for the team, reviewing the team’s Standard Operating Procedures, driving continual process improvement.The tracing lost and stolen IT kit reported on traceable IT assets, identifying and investigating where PCs may have been lost or stolen. Following up with the wider business, Absolute Software and, where appropriate, the police. Data AnalysisUsing and merging data from disparate sources into SQL Server, Excel, Access utilising SQL Server scripting procedures and DTS/SSIS packages plus PowerBI to produce reports for management, the wider business and interested third parties. These have included supporting Commercial, Financial and IT PMO functions including IT Asset, Mobile Phone and Skype usage and cost analyses.Database Administration Activities on mostly legacy Ingres and SQL Server systems that included a complete rebuild for DR purposes of an Ingres System on upto date Operating System and Database software. Ingres work ceased in 2017 but SQL Server work continues to support the Data Analysis and Asset Management roles.The period did include some time seconded to WIPRO (2014-5) as the company's outsourcing supplier.Carillion became insolvent in January 2018 when the role continued in support of the Administrators and remaining business but in a much closer relationship than previously experienced, particularly where the recovery of company laptops is concerned. This includes the devising of some PowerBI models to specifically aid the recovery of assets.

Database Administration of various technologies: SQL Server (to V2008), Ingres (V2.0), Progress (V9) and Oracle (to V10g) including some Oracle Applications. This included some supporting system administration for Unixware, AIX and Red-Hat Linux Systems. The role included all aspects of DBA work: installation, configuration, tuning, capacity and DR planning, system upgrades and also development work including SQL and unix scripting plus building of Red-Hat linux servers.This period included some time that was spent seconded to Accenture (2009-2012) as the companies outsourcing supplier.Successfully implemented and configured Idera products for SQL Server, specifically Diagnostic Manager.Significant involvement in the implementation and support of a number of FSI Concept systems.Design and development of procedures to validate and process mobile phone bills and also link PC usage between MS SMS and the Asset Inventory, with an increaing responsibility for the Asset Inventory itself.

Continued development, support and Database Administration for Oracle (V5 to V9) based Systems.Took a major part in the migration of the system from a VAX/VMS Server to one on Digital’s version of unix.Took a significant role in the large-scale development of a replacement system that utilised Ingres products. Including analysis and design as well as devlopment and implementation and database administration.Added Progress RDBMS Database Administration in 1998.During this period I also worked for Tarmac on some client sites providing support and development work for those clients.In 1999 Tarmac Construction became Carillion.

Started career as a developer/tester for Oracle based systems for Project and Financial Management later becoming a Database Administrator for those same systems. I transferred to Tarmac when the PSA was privatised and sold to them in December 1992.
