Working as a system safety engineer embedded in an advanced precision guided munitions program, I have conducted safety analyses (PHA, SSHA) of complex electro-mechanical assemblies. I have supported testing at live firing ranges, conducting test specific analysis and safety checks to ensure all personnel are safe. I spearheaded an effort to transition from documentation-based system analysis to model-based analysis and became an expert in the modeling software (MagicDraw) through the process. Additionally, I have taken on a cross-functional role assembling and testing guidance modules in the lab while helping to update tooling and build procedures to help move from intermittent to low rate initial production.
