My skill-sets cover a myriad of applications acquired over 30 years' service in the Royal Canadian Navy, as well as my many years of writing about and covering the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in Canada. As the senior Canadian military member and co-manager at the Great Lakes Marine Security Operations Centre (GL-MSOC) in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, I used my extensive naval background to lead a dedicated team of sailors, and worked closely with partners from the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA), Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and Transport Canada (TC) to monitor the safety and security of the marine domain in the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway area of responsibility for the Government of Canada.I am well versed in a wide variety of marine navigational systems including radars and computer management systems. I was the first journalist to reveal that MMA great Georges St. Pierre intended to win championships in multiple weight classes. I am on the judging panel of the MMA Hall of Fame, and was awarded the Marco Poulin award for Canadian MMA Journalist of the Year in 2009.
