Working in a polishing and Plating department where Brass castings were ground and polished to a defined shape and finish, latterly, ensuring bright chrome plating line ran effectively (Hardware & Chemicals).• Programming new products and optimising current programs on SHL polishing cells utilising KUKA robots (KRC32, KRC1 & 2 controls). Ensure manual polishing team process adherence. • Setting up robotic polishing cells on our Wolverhampton site and providing engineering cover (2000-2003).• Optimise Nickel/bright Chrome electro-plating line to comply with current H&S legislation and key metrics. Write procedures (MWI’s) for day to day activities and maintenance schedules, and improve production processes. • Developed and expanded the use of robotic polishing within Mira. Reconfigured cells due to product changes on several occasions. • Introduced two new pre-treatment cleaning lines, one Solvent the other Aqueous to improve FTPR Chrome plating yields.• Reduced consumable costs for the Nickel / Chrome plating line by 19% by process improvements/control.
