Andy Crandall is a IBM Americas Technical IAM Leader at IBM. Colleagues describe him as "Andy is up there in the top 3 colleagues I've ever worked with. He has an incredible combination of deep technical skills, strong consultative skills, excellent communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences, very strong leadership abilities, and calmness under pressure to an extent that I haven't really seen before. When we have the most difficult customer situations arise, whether those are consulting or pre-sales situations, Andy is someone who can always not only solve these issues, but also leave those customers or prospects highly satisfied, do so calmly, professionally, and leaving the customer wanting more interactions with him and the team. He's able to turn lemons into lemonade so to speak, every single time, and his passion and dedication really shows. He has been instrumental in helping us win most of our top services opportunities and many of our highest $ software opportunities. He's also been instrumental in helping us maintain those customers as very satisfied customers, whether that's through direct consulting, oversight of his team or partners' teams, or pinch hitting on the most difficult challenges involved in those accounts, including several Fortune 20 customers. Over the last few years, Andy has also managed a large team of consultants, and his management style is exceptional. He manages people the way he would like to be managed, empowering them, understanding that this means that they may fail occasionally, and if and when they do, taking full responsibility for this, and fixing the situation. He coaches his team effectively, mixing positive and critical feedback well. Andy is someone I couldn't possible recommend more strongly whether that's in a consulting, pre-sales, solutions architect, or management/coach player role. Frankly, even if it isn't one of those roles, Andy is someone who can quickly learn to do anything he aspires to do and would also be a great product manager, or leader in any cybersecurity company.
