Reporting to the Operations Manager, alongside 2 x other DOM's, my responsibilities became more leadership driven. Accountable for delivery of shift and overall department KPI 's within an Ambient RDC warehouse servicing 100+ stores, whilst maintaining SLA's and performance levels. Responsible for day to day, seasonal and future planning of resource considering over 150 - 200 x colleagues daily, from varying backgrounds, making reactive decisions to ensure operational flow on an hour to hour basis.With a team of 12 x Team Managers and 3 x Coordinators of varying ages, abilities, and cultures. A big part of the role was to lead the team towards operational excellence, understanding each of their needs, expectancies, and personal capabilities helped forge good, productive relationships. During 2013 we were the first DC of this size to transition across to our new WMS - Oracle Retail Warehouse Management System. Many of the challenges surrounding this were people orientated, and I was heavily involved in changing the internal cultural landscape of colleagues perception during the operational change process.During this role I continued through the second year of the Foundation Degree in Leadership and Supply Chain, this helped hugely to manage some of the challenges faced during this change process.
