This role entrusts full responsibility for Winbro Product Services' tooling design; most notably, tooling for the King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation (2024) winning High Speed EDM Drilling machine. This role includes:- Design of fixturing for bespoke turnkey machining solutions (EDM drilling and laser ablation)- Design of new tooling for Winbro's vast catalogue of machines - Design of tooling consumables such as EDM drilling noseguides and quills- Design of tooling accessories such as storage racks or testing equipment- Implementation of design improvements to all tooling products, based on customer, supplier and internal feedback

As the sole Mechanical Design Engineer in the Maintenance of Line team, I was was responsible for addressing repeat mechanical failures raised by customers, relating to the company's existing range of printing products. This involved identifying the root cause of each issue, generating and prototyping engineering solutions, and implementing Engineering Change Orders to ensure the problems did not reoccur.I was also involved in some New Product Development projects; designing mechanical components and assemblies to fulfil required functions within innovative new products.

This role offered increased responsibilities, including but not limited to:- Project management (including liaison with customers, tool makers and suppliers)- Design for Manufacture reports for customers' designs, to improve tooling and/or part feasibility and cost- Input into customers' product/component designs- Compilation of tooling and moulding quotations- Design of jigs and fixtures to aid other departments (production, quality assurance, etc)- Design of robot hands and end of arm tooling for production automation- Support of the placement student
