Following six months of setting up the processes for producing letters to Customers detailing their direct loss as a result of being missold an Interest Rate Hedging Product (IRHP), I then set up the methodology and process for dealing with claims from Customers for any consequential loss. I was responsible for the team who reviewed and assessed Customer claims, dealing with over 1,600 in total. Managed the successful implementation of Oracle Financials (E-Business Suite R12, BI Applications and Hyperion) across 5 countries as part of the separation programme from RBS. Managed the project from feasibility study through to phased implementation in 15 months, replacing 9 different existing systems. Created a stand-alone independent finance function, improving the quality and timeliness of reporting.

Oversaw internal and external reporting for the bank’s £25bn corporate assets in the Asset Protection Scheme. Implemented improvements to the quality, timeliness and reliability of information reported to all stakeholders. Managed the down-sizing of the team whilst maintaining the integrity of the reporting, delivering cost savings of 50% on a £3m budget.

Initially managed a feasibility study & system selection for a replacement GL and ERP system, which selected Oracle. Managed the business workstreams of UK and US finance departments and European branches through the full design and implementation of a major ERP systems project including accounting modules (GL, FA, P2P, PA), management information (BI) and creation of accounting records from trading systems (FSAH).
