Part of a team responsible for the manufacture of specific workholding products such as collets, vices, mandrels, and in particular special purpose machines and jigs / fixtures. A valuable experience, this gave me the passion I have for the machine tool industry.Under the ownership of Ford, many changes were made and the toolroom staff reduced significantly, many of the challenging but interesting jobs were outsourced and I was relocated to Castle Bromwich, maintenance department. I enjoyed my role but the toolmaker in me missed the machine shop and in 1995 I left Jaguar to purchase a small shareholding in my Father's sub contract engineering company.
