I have worked in the diamond exploration and mining industries for 46 years including 33 amazing years with Rio Tinto's diamond business (1989-2022). Prior to joining Rio Tinto, I held a number of senior technical roles in De Beers and BP Minerals, and obtained a PhD in Mineral Technology from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London. I'm now providing high quality technical advice from a strong experience base, on diamond ore body evaluation, grade and price estimation, diamond damage assessment, resource and reserve estimation, resource vs production reconciliation, diamond sorting and valuation. Currently, I'm co-chairing a panel of industry experts reviewing the CIM’s Best Practice Guidelines for Estimating Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves Specific to Rock Hosted Diamonds.
