As technical advisor Andy has the responsibility for answering technical calls from Gas safe registered engineers, installers, and consumers.The calls are varied from customers requiring information regarding their appliance and advice on its user operation. Andy also was responsible for information regarding installation and technical diagnosis on fault finding for repair service agents. The heating systems Andy has been trained on range from domestic boilers including electric and gas water heaters to commercial floor standing systems.In the time that Andy was being trained to advise callers on the technical support desk, he also designed and implemented a technical database for the department to centralise its data to help with the ease of locating important appliance information, such as service manuals, wiring schematics and technical bulletin information. Andy is also involved with working closely with the technical training officer to assist with external and internal training requirements for the company.

As part of the technical support arm for SMEG Domestic appliances, Andy offers training and onsite support for the UK network of engineers.
