I am a highly innovative, adaptable, empathetic, and pragmatic operations and project manager with 30 years experience in the hospitality and drinks industry. I have a wealth of experience due to owning and running multiple businesses with full end to end control of a variety of operations. I now have recent experience in a Business Development Manager role for Brown-Forman, and most recently as a B2B Partner Manager for Master of Malt Trade. I am Bristol based and the main area that I have covered is the South West of England and Wales, where I have a very strong network that I have built over the past couple of decades.Early on I realised that my career would be in hospitality and committed to working my way up through the industry driven by my ambition and entrepreneurial spirit to run my own business. Since 2008 I have been the director of several companies in the hospitality, events, training, mentoring and drinks distribution sectors. Since selling my businesses in July of 2023, I have been in a number of B2B field roles in the South West. I have very much enjoyed being face to face and building relationships with business owners, operators, and decision makers, winning contracts and closing deals, whilst helping them to great successes by truly understanding their concerns & requirements. I have developed many key skills critical for success over the years: staff retention based on effective recruitment, management, training, and development; building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and distribution; guest experience and customer focused; brand building; adaptability to changing trading environments; resilience; negotiation; leasing with stakeholders from all levels.I started Papaji's Ltd in 2008 when I signed the lease on my first site on Whiteladies Road in Bristol, Tequila Max, which went on to become Flipside Cocktail Club, one of Bristol's best cocktail party bars that stood the test of time. Opening our second unit with Faraway Cocktail Club in 2018.I am also creator & chairman of BARBI, Bristol Association of Restaurants, Bars & Independents. I set up an association to build purchasing power through recommended supply partners, networking events for owners & decision makers, industry only parties, as well as a voice for local independents within the council.
