Started at the fresh age of 15 hired by Scott Valett of Miracle collision and painting at 275 tully rd , after 5 years i found out the building was for sale , i bought the building and gave Scott his exit papers , and started my own business named Andys Hydraulics in the 70s , i pioneered hydraulics , from aircraft to my own hydraulics , using the poto-power idea, and the rest is history. When lowriding got banded 35 years ago ,by the State of Calif. , sales slowed, so i started developing aero dynamics , gas prices on the rise t would make vehicles fuel evecient . Haveing skills from working on corvettes using different composite materials to make them stronger , i found out , carbon fiber was stronger , lighter than aluminum and other metals. I started a new company named, Andys Auto Sport , a collision shop and mold making shop, , the two did not mix so i purchased Pacific Fiber glass and composites in Milpitas Ca. and seperated the shops . The media got wind of what i was doing , my work appeared in motor craft , lowrider , hot rod , import car, mecury news, KNTV and many others, and awarded Ditsler paint award for best use of colors and best paint in show, the Original by lowrider mag. , 2010 hall of fame, builder of the year , and on and on . you can google (andy douglas san jose ) and read more. I develpoed a repore with the insurance industry claims representative's , and eventually became good friends with Marty James , Tom Vivian, MArtin cowboy Holthouse, Joe Black, smoking Joe from Allstate just to name a few , helping develope the ground work for DRP network , the earley days where andy can you send us polorids of the damage , put the customer in a rental and send us a bill for damage. and the rest is history , i also helped out with the ccc and mitchell bugs in the early days , with overlap and other issues , i also spent a year with an undercover operation with marty james , the bueral of auto repair and sjpd to deveople a task forse, on insurance fraud . eventually i got an offer to sell from Macco coperation , and now regret it.
