Back in full-time employment and loving it. Working for yourself is fine but working as part of a team is much more satisfying. Now back working with Labels...back to my print roots. No I don't have any degrees or qualifications, but I do have over thirty years of experience, better than any certificate that hangs on your wall.I began my print/design career as a platemaker in the reprographic department of a major printer and moved within the company to become an Apple Mac Artworker/Graphic Designer. Moving into design from the reprographics direction rather than the graphics degree direction has help enormously with my career. You can spend hours working on a design and yes it looks pretty on a bright and clear computer screen, but it needs to look good when it's printed too! If you don't understand the limitations that different kinds of print processes, your design masterpiece can turn into a print disaster. I also have many interests away from work. I am vice-chairman of the 500cc Sidecar Association, a grasstrack racing club based in Chelmsford. I have been involved in the promotion of many top class racing events including the European Sidecar Final in 2014. Other racing events include a very successful national racing series. I now also have a pivotal role in the organisation of the British Sidecar Speedway Championships, including the web design of not only the Speedway, but also the 500cc Sidecar Assocation. www.sidecarspeedway.co.ukwww.500ccsidecars.com I am also involved with the Kelvedon Community Festival which was the Kelvedon Music Festval.
