Martin-Baker are the world leader in the design and manufacture of aircraft ejector seats. As you can imagine, right-first-time operation is a critical requirement of our product. In the role of inspector, I carry out numerous visual and mechanical checks on various in-house manufactured sub-assemblies to ensure correct operation in service. The range of equipment used spans from hand held gauges to specialist-manufactured machinery that subject each test piece to a range of forces under simulated conditions of altitude. Computer-logging of results follows the completion of each successful test.

I was employed as Operations manager for the industrial services side of the business. In this role, I managed the day to day running of the team of technicians that carried out a range of off-site activities for our clients. This also included the hiring of sub-contractors for all aspects of the work which fell outside of Malary's scope of supply. My other responsibilities included recruitment of new personal, dealing with matters relating to Health & Safety (including job-critical training courses), the integration and upkeep of the organisation's Quality Assurance protocols within the framework of the Industrial Services division, and dealing with any matters raised by the company's HRM department. My role also included a customer-facing element; fielding telephone enquiries, engaging in Teams meetings and/or off-site meetings.
