Delivering Digital Finance Transformation to enable real time reconciliation, working capital allocation and revenue optimisation

Worldpay was spun off from RBS in 2010 following its purchase by Advent and BAIN capital. A programme of work was established to build a first in class platform for Worldpay, and to migrate all of Worldpay’s customers, thus enabling separating from RBS. This was a vast Business and Technology change programme, and my delivery director accountability stretched from Transitional Business Processes and Transitional Services Agreements with RBS, to physically implementing the new platform, live proving and migrating customers.Throughout this long journey, many important milestones were achieved in both the business and technology, from an entire pricing simplification for the business, to optimising Worldpay’s approach to Interchange and Scheme Fee allocation. Increasing revenue generation from SMB to large scale ecommerce merchants across all verticals was also achieved. As part of the new platform, new markets were entered where I delivered Acquiring services in India, New Zealand, Canada, USA and across Europe.During the programme, the executive changed on a number of occasions, along with the IPO and two takeovers of the company. Unsurprisingly, this resulted in numerous changes in sponsorship and relative priorities within each of the newly formed organisations. However, each time my delivery approach was endorsed and supported.

Delivered the Visa Europe mobile payments platform in September 2011. My role consisted of managing the design, delivery and implementation of a complex payment’s solution, using a combination of internally sourced resources and multiple 3rd party vendors to build and host the platform. The delivery followed an agile approach by using key design, development and test resources along with product ownership throughout the life cycle. This, together with an Executive challenge to deliver within nine months was a combination which resulted in a quality mobile payments platform.Following the implementation, my focus was on delivering new additional platform functionality, including expanding the platform capability to support all major mobile operating systems and to enhance the member bank interfaces. In addition, I was responsible for the assurance initiative to ensure the platform continues to be secure and resilient against potential attacks. This is managed in the form of threat and risk assessment, penetration testing, source code vulnerability scanning and reviews, along with adhering to a secure SDLC and PCI DSS.

Based in Athens (Greece) Management of multiple Delivery Managers across multiple locations (Athens / Dubai / Pakistan) and controlling a major programme for the Middle East and Pakistan market. The objective of the programme is to migrate banks from their existing legacy credit card platforms to the VisionPLUS card processing platform, along with developing bespoke customisation enhancements. To date, I have migrated two issuing and acquiring clients to VisionPLUS and two new 'start ups' for new banks entering the credit card market.
