A business analyst by background, I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Finance degree, landed a position with Transamerica, found my passion is technology, and I've never looked back. Since the beginning, I've been steadily promoted to positions with broader scope and increased organizational impact. Currently, I'm called on to be the face of finance applications and reporting solutions for technology. Recently, I was the technical lead for a multi-year transformative project with a projected spend of $150M to modernize the company's financial processes and systems.Having a robust understanding of how data needs to flow in an organization, knowledge of the tools used to make that come to life, and experience building applications, I'm assigned large-scale, high-profile problems to dig into and solve. My strengths are setting/aligning to a strategy vision, getting a group organized, solving problems and delivering solutions.I'm very analytical and fact-based, with a deep understanding of how data, rather than assumptions, should drive decisions. Data tells a story—a story that's factual and informative. Without data reporting, analysis, and evaluation, informed decisions are not possible. I have significantly contributed to company efficiency, productivity, risk mitigation, and cost savings by using analytics to drive strategic business solutions. However, my value goes well beyond the metrics. I'm a leader and a team guy. My primary focus is my team.  What can I do to help them meet their potential, coaching and development are both things I take pride in.  I expect myself and my team (direct reports and peers) to get better every day. I promote a candid environment where we celebrate successes and are accountable to provide feedback to each other to improve.  Because I deliver high-performance teams, I'm leaned on as a mentor to new leaders, ones with high potential and those needing improvement, often put in charge of building new teams from the ground up or existing teams that needed to improve their processes. It's my goal to continue leading advanced technology innovations that deliver a high rate of return.
