Studio Rarekind is a collective of visual creatives spread across Europe, Africa and Asia. We collaborate on all forms of visual art and storytelling including film, animation, graphic design and print.I lead our video production projects, working closely with clients from inception to delivery. I script, film and edit compelling content, with a particular focus on environmental and human rights issues. Recent clients include the Asian Development Bank (ADB), UN Environment (UNEP) and Hivos.Every project begins and ends with our client. Understanding their audience, objectives, timeline and ways of working will always be at the heart of everything we do. We aim to build on their existing brand while striving to bring creative inspiration to the production process.

I specialised in environmental and human rights documentary filmmaking across Europe, Africa and Asia. With a particular focus on forest protection, climate change and community development. I created content for organisations such as the United Nations, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and the Center for International Forestry (CIFOR).

I produced at least one film each week for a nightly magazine show. It was essential to quickly develop ideas, find contributors and produce a visually interesting and engaging script. I shot most films myself and would always see them through to the edit, which usually happened on the day of TX. On location I would be in charge of a small team, at times with a camera op and sound. I was also responsible for the risk assessment before the shoot and safety while on location.

I developed, set-up and shot VTs for the topical film team, on a fast turn around nightly show. This included sourcing contributors, locations and archive. Projects included the Olympic Torch Relay, memories of BBC Television Centre for its final live broadcast and spending 36 hours on the HMS Illustrious as it sailed from Portsmouth to London, passing through the Thames barrier.

Followed the construction of the Mittal Orbit Tower, on the Olympic Park, from foundations to completion over 18 months. Additional filming in India, Holland, Luxembourg and across the UK.

I organised the offline edits and final post-production for a weekly arts magazine programme. Often running 4-5 edits, which I would assist both technically and creatively. I would oversee the grade, sound mix and online at an external facility. Often directing the colourist or audio mix and recording VO with talent. I would play the finished programme to tape, on the day of TX, and attend the tech review before delivery.
