I am now a contract trainer in fraud investigations. Formerly I was Deputy Director of the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau. As such I was Head of the crime teams and oversee the collation, analysis and dissemination of all fraud and cyber crimes reported to law enforcement in the UK, as well as the prevention and disruption work to help prevent UK citizens from becoming victims of crime.A major part of my role was tackling cybercrime, which is fast becoming the area of most concern… Show more I am now a contract trainer in fraud investigations. Formerly I was Deputy Director of the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau. As such I was Head of the crime teams and oversee the collation, analysis and dissemination of all fraud and cyber crimes reported to law enforcement in the UK, as well as the prevention and disruption work to help prevent UK citizens from becoming victims of crime.A major part of my role was tackling cybercrime, which is fast becoming the area of most concern within law enforcement.Previously I lead the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit and the London Regional Fraud Teams. These are two new and unique teams within the police service. PIPCU is possibly the only police team in the world that is dedicated to tackling organised intellectual property crime.I have built up substantial experience as a senior investigating officer and manager of economic crime cases, regularly dealing with complex legal issues and strategic matters. This includes successfully dealing with Judicial Review challenges at the High Court.I regularly work with other agencies in assisting and advising on their cases, such as the FSA and SFO to assist and advise on their regulatory or fraud investigations. I have written and implemented inter agency Memoranda of Understanding to guide successful joint working arrangements.I also continue to speak on a range of economic crime related matters at conferences, seminars and fraud investigation courses.I have taken the lead for the Force in devising the volunteer consultancy programme for economic crime, setting up a scheme to attract volunteers to assist the Force with their expertise in fields such as equities and financial markets; cybercrime, bribery and corruption, and overseas jurisdictions.
