Having started at Homebase on the shop floor within customer care in 2001, I have experienced steady growth developing into roles including Team Leader/Supervisor, Department/Category Manager and Assistant Manager. In 2015, I was promoted into the role of General Manager. This has been an incredible role where I am proud to have transformed the infrastructure of store operations, aligning service frameworks to business vision. My passion has been empowering teams to deliver key objectives and initiating change directives to achieve year on year sales growth. Key achievements include:• Embracing new responsibilities including category managing divisional directives, Health and Safety frameworks, leading the Horticulture department, and delivering Room Solutions (Kitchen and Bathrooms).• Maintaining an active role in routine operations whilst leading the strategy• Leading training, support and empowering teams on a one-to-one basis or in a team dynamic.• Creating an open communication culture• Leading the end-to-end employee lifecycle from recruitment, onboarding, training and progression planning• Project managed the close-down of a store ensuring the team were fully supported during their transfer to a new store or to find new employment outside the business.• Implementing a well-planned workflow process• Generating reports to align tasks to manpower• Accountable for cost management• Creating Key Performance Indicators underpinned by SMART methodologies• Building a customer-focused business culture• Implementing directives to improve visual engagement including merchandising strategies• Analysing complex data and translating performance metrics into new plans• Delivering store-wide implementation of health and safety protocols
