I was responsible for: Recruiting, training, inducting and managing some 70 volunteer befrienders spread across 5 counties • Assessing and matching with a suitable volunteer older people who had been referred for the befriending serviceMonitoring and evaluating the befriending service in my Area. Producing reports and analyses on performance for my line managerNetworking and marketing the service to appropriate statutory and third sector organisationsOrganising and facilitating volunteer meetings and training events.

I designing and delivering a variety of training interventions mostly, though not exclusively, in the context of counter-fraud investigation; examples include interviewing skills, interviews under caution, legislation, Court Procedures & Being a Witness, surveillance techniques, sources of information and statement-taking. At various times I also managed a team of 12 trainers delivering training in venues across the UK.

National

I was one of a team of three managers overseeing the staff training required nationally as a result of the merger of the Employment Service and Benefits Agency to become Jobcentre Plus. Prior to this project I managed the IT training in West and East Midlands for all staff on the implementation of the Early Office Infrastructure platform for the whole of DWP. In the course of various attachments I also worked in project & contract management, designed and delivered training for trainers and scripted and co-produced training videos. I also designed and cascaded Human Rights Act training for all Benefits Agency staff
