I manage a host of resources for the purposes of supporting a wide variety of studies in the Music Department at Northbrook College in West Sussex. This requires constant maintenance, a small amount of actual policing, liaising with many other departments, promoting the area throughout the college both via a blog, college intranet, amongst staff and students. I deal with queries ranging from all angles of the world of music including regarding the business, production, performance, the industry at large. I am also in charge of sourcing any opportunities that are available to students outside of college and helping them to get the most out of their time at Northbrook.During my time here I have attended and reported back from conferences, college events and even hosted my own CPD day training courses on social media to large groups of staff on said days.

Actively developing learning resources available to staff & students, reviewing and improving the ways students interact with the resources and increasing awareness. Indexing resources and making available to search via college intranet.Maintained music-student focused Wordpress; needed promoting and maintaining. Handled all manner of student / customer queries such as specific research challenges all the way through to common software queries.Liaised with staff across campus on a variety of projects including strategic meetings, building FLA resource database, advertising and promoting the FLA.Voiced innovative ideas and efforts to all levels of staff regarding nature of resource and updates in the face of transient, fickle creative industry.Attended conferences, e.g. The Great Escape in Brighton and Music Connex in London. Documented via video blog and digital Dictaphone recordings to share with staff & students on college intranet.

We began exchanging demos and stuff over the internet whilst the members lived in different countries. Quickly deciding to start making the band a reality, we all relocated in Brighton (sort of) - we quickly racked up some 300 gigs, performed at festivals across the country, released an EP, performed on a bus, at the BBC studios, got featured on the 22tracks website, went through 3 band members to arrive at the 3 piece psych - pop - rock band we are today.We put out our first single through state51 digital distribution and got onto itunes and spotify etc. in 2011. We are now working towards our first full length album on Brighton's At The Helm Records (part of Brighthelmstone Promotions) which is slated for release on July 29th. We're extremely excited to finally put out our first album, and intend on touring the release in the UK as well as in Europe in November.

In 2013, Brighton, UK’s FLASH BANG BAND release their acid tinged, garage-pop full-length debut on Brighton's Brighthelmstone Promotions’ label arm ‘At The Helm Records’. The energetic power trio have just 3 ambitions; to make each day count, inspire positive philosophy in others, and to enjoy themselves. These translate into playing every show like it's their last, writing songs that really inspire while staying true to their roots, and holding onto their integrity. The band's sound developed while slogging it out on the UK live circuit, starting locally and making fans of Brighton’s sound engineers and the droves of other local bands. Initially hired to give the Facebook page a once over. Collaborating with the company MD, I created and initiated an update plan, with specific themes, questions and promotions to increase the sign-up to the company's mailing list having captured their attention via the Facebook page.Harvesting emails from the Twitter account by DM'ing followers of the Radar Music Videos Twitter page. Built detailed database for DIY musicians from Radar's mailing list to act as a starting point for self-promoting eg: blogs, BBC radio presenters etc.

On an on - off basis, top notch experience, fantastic wonderful folks in the thick of it - brilliant high hoped, optimistic, frontline based international music management company. Un-Hype, damn cool.

MD, Julian Deane approached me following band mail outs I had written. I learned a huge amount about the music Industry and the roles within it. I met a lot of valuable contacts & continue to have a great relationship with the company.- Every day dealings with artists the company manages.- Managing social media.- Creating press releases for review by 3rd party PR companies.- Arranging tours.- Sourcing companies for day-to-day business affairs like Mastering etc. - Production managed a showcase event for Xtra Mile Records at the Great Escape 2010. - A+R duties for a variety of small projects serving the company and its network. - Networking, including with own personal contacts both locally and internationally. Several collaborations resulted, including one artist working with my contact in the heart of the LA music scene.

I had my own small business in which I had to find business, run a vehicle, do my own tax returns, market my services, maintain a decent enough reputation and make ends meet every day, week, month and year. It served me well in the time I was running the business but alas, the ever increasing expense of running both a business and meant it no longer made business sense.

I kept the works vehicle in all its maintenance requirements, parked it, kept it topped up with fuel etc etc. Additionally I had to keep to a strict time frame meeting the needs of high paying customers all over the south east. These people didnt want to be kept waiting so the time keeping aspect was the most important thing really. That and the absolute best customer service we could possibly provide to the customer - absolute utmost consideration for the customer and their lifestyles to which we serviced from the moment they entered the shop / purchased from the web store to the moment we drove out of their gate.
