After 18 years service in HM Prison Service, I have taken up a role as a full time employed Regional Organiser for the Criminal Justice Workers Union. I am an experienced trade unionist with over 10 years experience, predominantly representing staff working in the Criminal Justice sector. I started as a local TU representative at HMP Elmley, working as part of the local POA committee (2012-2014) before taking up post as branch secretary (2014-2018). I have gain numerous TU qualification from the TUC and POA branch officials training. In 2020, I took up the role of General Secretary of the newly formed Criminal Justice Workers Union, along side my role with HM Prison Services. Working along side a dedicated group of trade unionist, who all work within the Criminal Justice Sector, the CJWUnion has become an independent and certified trade Union representing members across the sector. In 2023, I left HM Prison Service to join the CJWUnion, as a Regional Organiser, this enables the union to offer improved support, advice and representation to all our members.
