Engage and inform clients during and after site visitations of plant health issues. Assist in troubleshooting plant health issues with lab testing based services. Research and establish new test methods for specific cases per client request. Prep and process plant tissue and soil samples for diagnosis of fungal, bacterial and viral pathogens. Collect and transport samples from local nurseries for nutrient and disease analysis. Data entry for incoming samples into LIMS and execute fulfillment and follow-up with clients with their results. Maintain a laboratory standard of cleanliness. Keep inventory and up-to-date certifications of supplies and equipment.

Respond to inquiries to the Master Gardener Helpline. Coordinate workshops and presentations to disseminate UC-researched information to the public. Maintain up-to-date information on current disease trends in Southern California.
