I currently serve as the Strategic Manager for Less Lethal Weapons, including Conductive Energy Devices (CEDs) and counter-drones, for the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) in the UK. I was seconded to the NPCC Firearms and Less Lethal Weapons Secretariat in 2013 and, in 2015, appointed as Staff Officer and Advisor to the National Lead for Less Lethal Weapons. My expertise has led to international engagements, including presenting at the 31st International Congress on Law and Mental Health in New York (2009) and advising the Turkish Interior Ministry (2011) on Taser CEDs and use of force. In 2015, I presented at the 8th European Symposium on Non-Lethal Weapons in Germany, showcasing the UK’s operational model. This led to collaborations with law enforcement and military agencies in Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the United States. I continue to present and advise globally in both portfoliosI also serve as an advisor to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) on Tasers and use of force. I have set up a cohort of national SMEs to assist in this role.As a Master Instructor in Taser training, I completed certifications in Arizona (2008/2010) and London (2011). In 2013, I re-certified as a Senior Master Instructor in Glendale, Arizona. I also supported the Metropolitan Police Firearms Command Policy Unit as an advisor.Notably, I was part of the national team that introduced body-worn video for firearms officers across the UK, and I authored the complete training package for all Metropolitan Police Service officers equipped with cameras. In March 2019, I took on the additional role of managing the uk policing response to Counter Drones following the gatwick airport incident in 2018. We have increased our national capability and response and continue to evolve with our partners and stakeholdersX: @lesslethalweaps
