Primary areas of responsibility and tasks that may typically be expected include but are not limited to:Teaches the national construction certification curriculum to trainees using prescribed materials. Teaches YouthBuild participants constructions skills to include: demolition, rough framing, roofing, drywall, and finish carpentry. Ensures worksite safety, modeling and reinforcing proper construction techniques and all trained safety procedures including proper use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment. Supports the academic and leadership goals of the program by incorporating both into building site activities whenever possible. Initiates and schedules OSHA, first aid, and CPR training for all participants.Ensures and Memorandum of Understanding has been presented, thoroughly discussed, and signed by building partners and other civic organizations prior to the start of all projects.Sets worksite behavioral standards and model appropriate behavior and methods of addressing problems at the construction site.Leads and supervises students in community service projects as requested.Updates YouthBuild manager informed of construction progress and challenges.Maintains construction certification report up-to-date, provides required certifications statistics to YB assistant on a quarterly basis, and apply for participant certifications upon completion of the curriculum.Completes daily activity log and construction report section of weekly report form in a timely manner.Maintains inventory of all tools and equipment used on the job daily.Maintains an accurate vehicle mileage log.Ensures all vehicles receive scheduled maintenance.Attends additional meetings and trainings as required.Performs other related duties as assigned.

This began as a third-party contract position as a Crisis Peer Trainer with the Division of Mental Health and Addiction. The DMHA work group that I was associated with is responsible for recruiting partner agencies to develop Mobile Crisis Units throughout the state of Indiana to respond to leads generated through the 988 Crisis Hotline network. My position was responsible for training the teams' Peer Supporters and their respective Supervisors. Now that I am no longer under contract, I will continue my advocacy work under the trade name Padded Ceiling. After identifying the need within a large organization, I have begun work on my own De-Escalation presentation and will also begin seeking out other opportunities to facilitate programs related to mental wellness and peer support.

All of the necessary documentation is the bane of my existence, but I'm picking right up where I left off at the State Hospital. Capital A Advocacy and leading with love and compassion!!
