 Perform the configuration, installation and upgrading of server and desktop based services to ensure the minimum disruption to production services and in accordance with IT Security Policies and other relevant standards. Investigate and resolve escalated complex technical problems in specialist area(s), working with users, other staff and suppliers as appropriate. Perform technical feasibility studies - analyse, evaluate and test to ensure that new and/or upgrades to server based services, desktop services and operating systems, and critical Business applications meet the business objectives, operational performance criteria and their impact has been thoroughly assessed prior to implementation into the production environment. Develop and maintain a good understanding of relevant server/desktop based services, network technologies, standards, protocols and products in order to provide specialist advice/consultancy to other IT teams, Project Managers, Stakeholders, Business Users and LGSS Partners. Provide 3rd Level specialist support and training for IT teams as required. Provide specialist support during the implementation of projects and during handover to support teams. Liaise with key business stakeholders to investigate, evaluate and analyse new IT technologies, and risks associated. Give recommendations within the requirements of the business and LGSS wider IT Strategy, to include PC hardware, peripherals, desktop and office systems software. Plan & Implement new IT technologies, e.g. PC hardware and peripherals, desktop and office systems software, in line with the requirements of the Business and the Wider LGSS IT Strategy. Contribute to the development and management of the team to continually improve the levels of service, quality and reputation of IT to existing and potential clients and Stakeholders.
