Andy's particular expertise and passion is for the commercial development of Alternative Fuels for the recycled wood, RDF and SRF markets, requiring development of fuel production facilities and associated supply chains, including logistics, ports and shipping. Andy is recognised as one of the leading figures in the Alternative Fuels sector, having pioneered the first UK SRF exports to non-European destinations, namely North and West Africa and India. He is a regular speaker at conferences all over the world as an independent expert and on behalf of the UK Wood Recyclers Association, which he has Chaired for the last 5 years. This includes engagement with key industry stakeholders including the Environment Agency, SEPA, NRW, NIEA, DEFRA and the UK Government.During his time at Suez, Andy helped establish over 1 million tonnes of annual Alternative Fuel supply to a number of UK and export markets, including to the EfW, CHP and cement sectors, resulting in Suez recycling and recovery UK becoming the largest exporter of Alternative Fuels and a key player in the European and non-European markets.Andy Hill Consultancy combines Andy's wealth of experience in Alternative Fuels and wider business development and Board level management in the SME sector to deliver a no-nonsense approach to help businesses grow and develop. In a little over 5 years, Suez has established a network of Alternative Fuel facilities providing over a million tonnes of Alternative Fuels each year to both UK and export markets (CHP & Cement sectors). Currently Chairman of the UK Wood Recyclers Association, focussed on key stakeholder engagement to positively influence government policy and regulation and Chair of the Eunomia RDF group including working on their Brexit position and Fire Prevention Plan (FPP) review panels.
