As Head of Digital Engineering, a role that reported directly into the Infrastructure Board, I was primarily responsible for defining the scope of Morgan Sindall’s Digital Engineering offering over the 5 business units and devised a strategy aligned against a roadmap for the roll-out, adoption and embedding into the respective Infrastructure businesses, the goal to make the use of Digital Tools, information and Processes ‘Business as Usual’ • Took on the role of ‘Innovation Catalyst’ giving me close links with and worked alongside the Group Innovation Director to both drive the Boards agenda whilst owning the Innovation framework of activities within the Infrastructure division • Presented at events, round tables and client engagement sessions• Lead the adoption and use of BIM at a level that retained the groups ISO 19650 accreditation and fulfilled the needs of our clients• Worked with business functions to establish potential improvements / opportunities from data that was either available or had the potential to gather more efficiently – an example of which being able to demonstrate a time saving of 20% producing O&M manuals • Developed a reporting framework to capture and feed-back outcomes at senior leader & board level focusing on efficiencies and sustainability potential – such as demonstrating that there was a 45% increase in activities starting as scheduled on Digital projects• Key interface between the organisation and Tier 1 technology providers such as Autodesk, Leica and Bentley• Created a network of functional ‘Change Champions’ across the business to promote the benefits and positively impact the ongoing change programs from a bottom up ‘peer to peer’ approach• Maintained relationships and conducted research / Horizon Scanning by engaging with key technology providers in order to be at the forefront of emerging relevant technologies and disruptive trends supporting innovation.• Delivered webinars and wrote articles for external publications
