I was also responsible for building up the charity's new business pipeline including researching companies, supporting with pitches and writing COTY applications.

Starting out as a communications officer in the digital team, I was in charge of the day-to-day running of all of the charity’s social media offering and nascent online community. Other responsibilities included keeping the website up-to-date, optimising existing web pages and generating additional content to drive more traffic to the website. In 2015 I was transferred to the patient services team to set up and implement a strategy that would increase patient engagement, strengthen our relationship with people affected by blood cancer and provide the charity with a bank of patient volunteers. This culminated with the creation and launch of our Patient Ambassador programme in September 2016 where I was responsible for overseeing the volunteering efforts of 140 Ambassadors across the UK.

Responsible for teaching English to 150 pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 at Crown Woods School in Eltham. This involved 21 hours a week of classroom teaching as well as running after school enrichment sessions for struggling students. Outside of the classroom, responsibilities included lesson planning, marking and regular liaison with students’ parents/guardians.Ultimately, teaching wasn't for me but I found it an enriching experience where I learnt a lot about myself and my relationship with others.

Assisted SEN pupils across the curriculum from English to Textiles. This involved supporting SEN pupils with their work in the classroom and devising lessons and schemes of work better suited to their individual needs. Other responsibilities included mentoring students, taking the Year 9 football team and providing one to one Maths and English tuition for pupils.

Ran the social media accounts for both Mothercare UK and ELC – two of the agency’s leading clients. This involved scheduling tweets and Facebook updates and responding to customer feedback and comments. Other responsibilities included drafting press releases and contacting journalists with potential stories on behalf of clients, writing articles for websites and various administrative tasks around the office.

Set up and ran the charity’s social media presence online as well as assisting the Communications and Information Officer with the branding of the charity and all its literature. The role involved regular liaison with the CEO and other departments to create and edit copy that was consistent and on message whether that be web content, thank you letters or supporter newsletters.
