As apart of the AmeriCorps NCCC organization, managed and supervised Team FEMA Green Two, 10 volunteers who traveled the country for 10 months in order to support and assist FEMA operatons in disasters. Team Green Two was trained in Indiviual Assistance, specifically Mass Care operations, Volunteer Agency Liason work, and specializing in writing accurate and timely reports. Green Two also worked with Hazard Mitigation and FEMA External Affairs. Major Projects as Team Leader:1. FEMA Joint Field Office - Forest Hills, NY- Flood Plain Management Specialist – Crew LeaderHazard Mitigation Branch, NY DR-4085• Project manager on a Repetitive Loss Property Project including conducting site inspections; documenting damages; conducting project research and analysis as needed; identifying and coordinating special considerations; and providing supporting documentation and analysis of over 3,800 repetitive flood loss properties2. FEMA Headquarters, Washington, DC – Program Supervisor - Office of External Affairs • Provided direct project management and oversight in External Affairs: Disaster Operations, Private Sector, Congressional Affairs, Action Office, Intergovernmental Affairs, Public Affairs (Social Media, News Desk, Ready Campaign), and Strategic Communications 3. FEMA Field Office – Galena, Alaska –– Individual Assistance Mass Care Supervisor Mass Care/Emergency Assistance/IA Reports/Volunteer Agency Liaison DR-4122 AK• Established and maintained strategic partnerships with all counterparts participating in the disaster recovery, including the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, United Methodist Volunteers in Mission, Conservation Corps Minnesota and Iowa, State of Alaska, City of Galena, Louden Tribal Council, and FEMA. • Oversaw all operations in the Mass Care task forces of Information Management, Sheltering, Feeding, and Pets with 47 residents sheltered and supported, 5,779 meals served, and 13 household dogs repatriated with their owners.
