On leaving University, I was the only one of the 72 on my business course to embark on a career in logistics. My introduction to the profession was through the NFC management training scheme and without any real expectations I quickly discovered that I had a real passion for Logistics due to the huge variety of challenges and opportunities it afforded me.It’s turned out to be a lifelong passion, culminating in 2018 when I was honoured to receive the Talent In Logistics Lifetime Contribution Award. Since then, a lot has happened that has positioned our profession at the epicentre of global business success.Brexit, Covid-19, the impact of Amazon on expectations around fulfilment - the world has changed, and logistics is critical to it. I founded the company that has become Bis Henderson in 2000. Bis merged with George Henderson to become Bis Henderson Recruitment in 2008. In 2010, we added Bis Henderson Consulting Ltd as a formal consulting arm, and with the re-launch of Bis Henderson Space Ltd in 2017 - our Group was born. 22 years later and I’m just as passionate about what we do now as I was back then. I love the fact that we've got a fantastic team , a fantastic brand and a value set for quality, integrity, speed, value and trust that has allowed us to grow our business and add real value to our customers. I've learnt that the quality of my team is the very heart of why we are successful and as such I love helping people develop themselves. This is one of the main reasons behind my involvement with the NOVUS Trust, nurturing the next generation of logistics and supply chain professionals and enabling them to develop their own careers in the industry.
