Duties are to maintain all mechanical equipment within the treatment works processes. Such processes include, screening equipment, grit and grease removal systems, de-sludging and settlement systems, areation blowers, dewatering systems such as; belt presses, volutes and centrifuge. Thermal hydrolysis plant and also various pumps such as rotary lobe pumps, centrifugal pumps, progressive cavity pumps and multistage pumps.

Heating Batteries and associated pipework. Electric and pneumatic control valves.Heating systems; Maintenance, repair, dismantling and assembly of heating plant and all components such as boilers, calorifiers and plate heat exchangers. Dismantling plant to component level such as pumps, valves; safety blow off valves, pressure reducing valves and manually operating valves. Repair and fabricate steel and copper pipework and supports. Erect and repair pipework using screwed, brazed and flanged connections. Also compression fittings when working with copper pipework. Laundry Machinery; Maintenance, repair, dismantling and assembly of laundry machinery and equipment such as batch tunnel washers; large chain drive systems, steam heated compartments, pumps, seals, solenoids, valves and flow meters. Calenders/Ironers; repair and replacement of drive motors, oil filled rollers, gearboxes, conveyors, sensors and pistons. Dryers; maintenance and repair to motor and fans. Also to heater battery and associated pipework including steam traps and strainers on condensate lines. Conveyors; repair and maintenance to conveyor belts, drive rollers, gearboxes and guide rollers.Also worked on Medical Gas systems, compressors, condensate recovery units, industrial kitchen equipment ad boilers.
