Andy Love brings an expertise developed through a highly successful career in commercial real estate and a distinguished military career in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard to his clients at Morrison, Love & Co.Throughout a thirty year career providing commercial real estate services, consulting and brokerage, he has demonstrated an ability to bring significant value to his clients. His assignments have included disposition of surplus corporate assets; new site location including negotiation of economic incentives; major site assemblage; commercial lease negotiations; and advice as to long term strategic use of assets.Major General Love spent 37 years in the uniform of the United States Air Force, a significant portion of which was in the National Guard. Following 9/11 he was one of a small cadre of general officers asked to stand up our nation’s homeland defense command, US Northern Command, in 2002. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 2004, he was asked to join the newly appointed Secretary of Veterans Affairs, R. James Nicholson, as Counselor to the Secretary, charged with rationalizing the VA’s healthcare delivery assets across the country. He was also asked to head a team working to identify and locate sites for three new VA hospitals. One of those new hospitals was to be located in Denver, Colorado. In recognition of his success, including the acquisition of a site at Fitzsimons, he was awarded the Secretary’s Commendation in 2008.His skills honed over a career marked with numerous, successful large projects include a sophisticated understanding of real estate combined with a national perspective acquired through a second career in uniform and through his service with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He understands how to work with the Congress, the federal departments (including the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs) and with local business and civic groups to achieve a project’s goal.
