- Built comprehensive laboratory hardware and software infrastructure to support behavioral neuroscience experiments, including the training, monitoring, quantification and analysis of animal behavior. Engineered the transmitter, receiver, charging dock, and manufacturing jigs and developed a user-friendly software GUI.- Developed suite of robust devices used to sense and reward rat behavior, including a programmable precision syringe pump for delivering sugar water reward, a retractable lever for conditionally presenting options and registering presses, a proximity sensing noseport for detecting nose entries, a low latency audio generator to provide sound stimuli, and a camera controller for capturing and synchronizing video frames with the behavior data stream.Software highlights:- Developed software for experiments aimed at validating a rat model of Parkinson's disease. Implemented a user-friendly graphical interface to independently control two belts of a split-treadmill, enabling data collection on the rat's gait. Conducted analysis and generated visualizations using additional wheel running data, highlighting significant changes in rat mobility as a result of L-DOPA treatment.-Developed an experiment session data browser and visualizer, enabling researchers to filter and compare trial outcomes within the same session under various conditions.
