Also managed modifications to their operational information systems, and created sales & operations planning tools.Planned, simulated, and implemented a finished goods warehouse redesign project that reduced annual operating costs, and improved throughput by 25 percent.Led a strategic sourcing project for a fuel systems manufacturer to support the introduction of a major new product technology. Developed the 20 Keys of Supplier Qualification benchmark, and expanded their supplier options in eleven different categories of component parts.Managed a lean implementation for a Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer targeted to provide improvements in inventory accuracy. Reengineered the organization, updating the business systems, converted the internal logistics systems to pull, and standardized reporting procedures. Developed forecasting, scheduling and planning tools to achieve inventory reductions for the market leader in tooling components for the plastic injection molding industry. Created user applications with flexible parameter table features, to optimize the inventory logic, providing inventory reductions of 20% without effecting customer service.Facilitated the hands-on training of 12 Lean Leaders through a series of Lean Implementation Kaizen events. Bridged the gap between the black and white of classroom training, and real world implementation through practical examples.

Managed the startup logistics of a major new OEM customer for a heavy vehicle parts supplier resulting in the successful addition of $30M in sales.Designed and installed flexible manufacturing cells, allowing swift response to market opportunities for a cast wheel manufacturer. As project manager, defined productivity standards, and developed a team based operating culture by leading a series of kaizen events.Planned and implemented post-acquisition integration projects involving three plants. Developed the budgets, and designed the facilities. Scheduled and supervised the movement of every work-center, accomplishing the plan without interrupting ongoing operations. Directed new construction / demolition projects to further enhance product flow paths. The project was completed on time and within the $15.5M budget, while achieving the 40% productivity improvement objectives within the first nine months.

Designed a multi-chip module connector for Motorola. Managed the construction and equipping of a Class 100 clean room facility for automated circuit manufacturing. Concurrently developed an advanced plating process for flexible printed circuits that increased manufacturing throughput by 50%. Enhanced the manufacturing and assembly operations of a 300,000-ft² maquiladora through facility rationalization and technology transfer.Directed technical and business operations while reducing costs by 30% through process, materials, and labor savings. Turned $1M per month losses into sustainable profits over a six-month period, positioning the $60M division for sale, and eventually a very successful IPO.Provided process improvement expertise to the flex circuit industry for web/material handling, printing, imaging, etching, cleaning, plating, registration, laminating, baking, punching, drilling, blanking, laser ablation, component assembly and packaging on a world-wide basis. Provided material selection and failure analysis services for ferrous, and nonferrous metals as well as plastics, composites and lubricants. Maintained the hermetic glass seal, die casting, brazing and captive heat treatment processes. Evaluated the structure and composition of electroplated contact surfaces with the scanning electron microscope. Developed a glass-ceramic, stainless steel, hermetic connector for Sandia Labs. Established a vacuum diffusion process for gold plating molybdenum connector pins used in the space shuttle solid rocket boosters.

Major - US Army Ordnance CorpsGraduated #1 in both Officer’s Basic and Advanced Classes, Commanded a Basic Training Company and specialized in Conventional and Special Ammunition Logistics.Directed the operations of two units with $100M in assets, and 425 operators through a staff of fifteen professionals. Reduced the operations, maintenance, and training costs by $200K/year. Later went on to plan, coordinate, and schedule the operations of five units totaling over 1000 individuals and $250M in assets.
