Leading engineering delivery on the Airports programme of major projects including the Western Extension to Pier 6 and major building extensions to both North and South Terminal Departure Lounges.Promoting a focus on sustainable development, using BREEAM to deliver projects and embedding low carbon construction methodologies into the way Gatwick delivers projects.

Responsible for leading a team of Project Engineers working across the Airfield and Northern Runway Programmes of work on the Gatwick Capital Investment Plan. Leading a team delivering complex airfield design packages in a constrained environment. Focussed on delivering good value, buildable, high quality design that can be delivered in a busy operation. Projects have included, the enhancement of Pier 4 to a Multi Choice Apron to increase operational resilience, taxiway rehabilitation programme of works, resurfacing the most efficient single runway in the world and installation of a new RET to increase efficiency of the Airfield. Works currently include the feasibility studies and DCO work on the bringing into routine use the existing standby runway.

Project Engineer for the Four Lines Modernisation (4LM) transformation of the subsurface London Underground railway. The Four Lines Modernisation seeks to increase the capacity of the Circle, District, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines by the largest programme of on and off train works London Underground has ever undertaken. Andy is responsible for delivering design packages for the Wayside (Lineside) equipment to support the new Automatic Train Control (ATC) system. Andy works on multi disciplinary design and is currently managing design for train stabling solutions including all P-Way, S&C, Singalling integration, systems, support accommodation and infrastructure. Andy is adept at interfacing with a diverse internal and external stakeholder group to deliver complete design and delivery solutions.

Andy worked as a Project Engineer on the Airports Capital Investment Programme to upgrade and transform the Gatwick Estate to allow us to 'compete and grow to become London's airport of choice'. He assists the business in realising good value yet spectacular capital projects which wow our guests by improving the passenger experience. Andy is especially passionate about improving operations for our staff and focussing on the lifecycle of assets and structures.Andy is responsible for the management of design packages of work from inception of a design brief to full project completion including the formation of design briefs, managing design process, stakeholder management, business interfacing and assisiting in the implementation of designs. Andy is currently Lead Project Engineer responsible and accountable for design delivery on the Airports Q6 flagship transformation of the North Terminal. The programme of works is to increase the capacity of the terminal and improve passenger experience. Andy leads a team of Project Engineers and is accountable for process, governance and delivery of design packages. In addition Andy is directly responsible for delivering key design packages within the programme. He works strongle cross discipline and function to ensure lean procurement, programming and best value design across the programme. Previously he has delivered the design packages for the transformation of the South Terminal Departure Lounge which included several high profile anchor stores and 20 new high end fashion retail offers. Additionally he acts as a technical consultant for Retail Detail Design Delivery for all new and churned retail fit outs on the Gatwick campus (currently close to 200 retail units). In this role he provides technical guidance to concessionaires fitting out on the campus.

Andy worked as package manager at Tube Lines on the construction of the Green Park Station Step Free Access upgrade. After 3 years involved from scheme to detailed design Andy followed the project to construction and managed a number of sub contractors on site. This deepened Andys management experience and added depth to his technical experience.

Andy worked initially as a Structural Engineer developing Scheme and Feasibility designs for several London Underground projects. He also worked as a detailed designer and checker on several Civil and Structural elements of the East London line project. Later Andy worked as a design coordinator developing the detailed design of the Green Park Station LUL Upgrade project. He went on to become Assistant Project Manager for the projects site implementation contract involved in temporary works design and site support.

Year in industry placement. This placement working in both Civli Engineering and Plain Line Track renewals gave Andy a solid grounding in both construction and the rail industry.
