Working along side Progressive Systems Solutions to extract the data from QLX housing system and load it into saha's Universal Housing System. Building and publishing SSRS reports to support the new data.Currently supporting Contact Manager and Universal Housing and SDR reporting when required.

As part of a small development team over a ten year period I assisted the IS Manager by leading a team of three developers. During this time my role involved administering Moat’s IBM AIX server that holds the Housing Management system (Civica’s Inhouse). I performed an operating system upgrade from AIX 4.3.3 to AIX 5.3 and the upgrade of many other associated programs. The other side of my role was managing a number of successful projects through the full development life cycle. Some of these projects are detailed below.Database IntegrationThe consolidation of four unrelated Civica Inhouse Housing Management Systems into a single Informix database using a combination of Informix 4gl, ACE reports and Unix Shell scripts.4J’s BDL upgrade to GeneroThe conversion of over two hundred 4gl programs, libraries and scripts. Contact Manager (Civica’s EDM)The implementation of Contact Manager, Civica’s front office solution.The design and coding of a set of functional tools to allow the indexing of single and multi page MS Word mail merge documents directly into Contact Manager. Back scanningThe development of a program to control the process of scanning housing related documents to an external online EDM supplier. This program was a key factor in keeping down the cost of scanning and facilitated in tracking the location of documents at any point during the process.Unix Disaster RecoveryProduction of a full AIX Unix system backup and recovery process.

My main role was to fix any bugs found in release eight of Avero’s INSUNIX environment.My secondary role was to produce reports that had been lacking in the previous release 7.

My main role was to fix any new found bugs in the INSUNIX environment and aid in the smooth conversion of all the data held in the database to the new system. This involved the production of several large reports for each of the INSUNIX Modules, these were then read and imported by a Windows application called Coinserve.

My main role within the business projects department was in the production and deployment of insurance schedules. Each of the schedule templates was created using Uniplex, using a compiled 4GL a variables file was created then Unimerge was used to produce the finished schedule.My other role was bug fixing many of the various modules from premiums and exits, and also the production of bonus certificates.

Working from a specification I was required to make changes to South Ayrshire’s Golf Booking System. This included a whole new pricing structure, a new booking scheme for bookings made by hoteliers and changes made to the system to store the party leader names and addresses for mail shot purposes.

As a member of the OM Tools group, this challenging role gave me the opportunity to use my analytical and methodical skills. The groups’ main function was to produce prototype tools for functionality that was lacking in the main line product. Each tool that was written had to be maintained and supported for up to two years before being included in the main line product.During this two-year contract I was involved in the production of seven prototype tools.
