Responsible for the creation and implementation of strategy and revenue forecasting I manage the classified advertising sales team selling in to Grand Designs, Good Homes and Gurgle magazines and work collaboratively with Grand Designs Live and Ideal Homes Show exhibition teams to ensure revenue opportunities are maximised. With a budget revenue responsibility of £6.5m per annum I led and managed three sales teams within RCNi: Classified Advertising, Display Advertising and Institutional Sales, totalling 14 staff. I regularly presented to and negotiated with the UK’s largest NHS and non-NHS healthcare providers, advertising agencies, pharma and consumer brands.Tasked with growing RCNi in the UK and internationally I oversaw forecasting and budgeting for the sales department and worked with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to business development. I informed sales strategy and plans through effective use of data and analytics to track performance, drive velocity of the sales pipeline and accurately report on sales performance to the wider business.I managed the sales strategy and performance of UK’s highest circulating paid-for nursing publication, Nursing Standard, along with a suite of specialist nursing journals and was responsible for the budgeting and financial performance of classified and display advertising departments and for the flat plan of the RCN Bulletin (circulation 430,000 named nurses).I planned and managed the sponsorship sales for the prestigious awards event, RCNi Nurse of the Year Awards, as well as eight high profile, award-winning nurse recruitment events, RCN Bulletin Jobs Fairs. I won the tender for and successfully hosted the 2016 Chief Nursing Officer Summit on behalf of NHS England, a 3-day conference with keynote speaker, the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt.I drove sales for the digital platforms of RCNi: rcni.com, rcnbulletinjob.co.uk, nursingstandard.com and all specialist titles’ associated websites to deliver consistent growth. I recruited and trained a new institutional sales team and generated and executed a sales strategy for the launch of RCNi Learning and RCNi Portfolio. I also developed proposals and business cases to inform the development need of new products, services and solutions to meet client needs.
